It's #PhillySoundSessions Anniversary May 2nd!! ... See You There!!

#PhillySoundSessions is an event like no other. A mixer with all of the people you need to know in Philly, from the hottest producers to wicked artists and songwriters, Philly Sound Sessions is the place to be! Taking place on the first Thursday of every month, Philly Sound Sessions gives artists, producers, managers - anyone related to the music industry - a chance to mingle and network with one another while enjoying great hand picked performances. A live band takes the stage and develops the chill tempo for the night while the DJ keeps the energy going! Food and drinks are served all night. There’s also a hookah lounge on the second floor for those who want to sit and watch the show from above. LoveBlackShepherd will be in the building at every event shooting interviews and there are vendors with loads of goodies!

For any artist’s in the building that are feeling the vibe and want to hop on stage and show their skills, once the official line up is over Philly Sound Sessions usually turns into a live jam session - so feel free to grab the mic when it's hot!

As far as NETWORKING goes, at Philly Sound Sessions the opportunities are endless! You can find the perfect producer or songwriter for your next single + find a great artist to collab with + there's opportunities to get booked to perform at one of Philly's well known #VeteranFreshman concerts at the TLA (Created by Yusuf "Yuie" Muhammad & Sponsored by LiveNation), as well as the AC3 Festival and the Loud Music Tour.

Philly Sound Sessions was founded by Dozi, CEO of Get Go Productions who then partnered with
BreezyB, CEO of Exclusive Public - together bringing other opportunities to the table such as beat placements for producers + branding and marketing services for artists that are serious about their career.

Please Note: ALL music of the evening will be ORIGINAL. We strongly prefer registered (BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC) producers/songwriters however if you are not, don't be hesitant to contact us (we can help you if you would like to set up a one on one consultation). If interested in showcasing your music at one of the #PhillySoundSessions events please email a sample of your work to phillysoundsessions@gmail.com

9 Things YouTube Recommends Musicians Do, That You’re Probably Missing

Yesterday, YouTube released a creators guide for musicians who use YouTube–detailing best practices and techniques for musicians using the service. The 40 page guide holds much common knowledge but a few gems of wisdom stuck out to us. Below we rounded up a few key points they made, that you shouldn’t miss.

  1.  Put Popular Searched Items In Your Title – If you have famous guests or keywords users will search, be sure to find a way to add them to your title.

  2. Tag As Much As Possible – Tag as many terms that relevant to your video as possible. If you can find real relevance in these tags to the content in your video, there is no penalty for using as many as possible.

  3. Thumbnails Should Invite Curiosity – While you think it’s a good idea to post the picture where your singer looks cute, it’s a better idea to use a thumbnail of a picture where the viewer wants to know what is going on in your video. Seeing a 100 people throwing pies at once is much more compelling than just another pretty face.

  4. Capitalise On Timeliness – Viewers often search for time-relevant items. Making a playlist of all the bands on an upcoming show or festival and adding your music near the top of some bigger acts can really help get you some exposure and concertgoers.
