For cryin out loud
In a world where you have things like Facebook, Twitter, IPhones and all kinds of ways to communicate and get information, there is NO reason for artists to NOT know what to do to in order to build their brand. There was a time when people would network person by person in order to get the information they needed to get o the right door of the music business. Now all you have to do is "Google" what you need to know and POW. However, not many aspiring artists do that. They run around looking the part but not knowing what they need to know in order to be more than neighborhood stars. It's not just the young ones either!! At a conference this man had an entertainment group or whatever and had what he felt was a hit. His question to the panel was "What do I next?" ............For crying out loud!! Let people hear the stupid song!! What is wrong with you?!! The questions that were asked was mind blowing! Like, did they really think that the panel would reveal some secret way to get to your goal that doesn't require WORK?
I've heard stories about how successful artists train DAILY. They sing their songs while on treadmills and do a lot of things to remain in shape in order to perform without passing the hell out. How many shows/open mics have you been to where the artist starts out really hyped and by the second verse they need an oxygen tank? They spend the whole time performing for themselves or their crew on the stage with them? There are countless you tubes that are based on artist development. The record labels no longer have a department for that. The companies that provide artist development charge good money for it because, well ,they can. Okay we get that smokin a million blunts motivates your creativity, but how about rehearsing your songs while smoking, on the treadmill? Build up stamina. There are so many ways to find out what works for each individual and it's available to the world via the internet. I like to call it "research"

Why Scarface turned down Hip Hop Honors
Although many will find it an absolute blessing to receive the Hip Hop Honor, Scareface has declined the offer. "Even though it was a nice gesture, I feel like it’s just a pacifier." You have to respect the man for having values and making decisions based on those values rather than jumping to the first thing that resembles an "honor"
